Materials

We work with ceramic-layered zirconia and with feldspathic ceramic, in CAD/CAM, on refractory models and leucite-reinforced. Each case is developed with clinical criteria.

We describe each material in general terms, to help you choose. For a specific case, talk to us.

Ceramic-layered zirconia

Used in our FP3 rehabilitations and in implant bridges and crowns.

What it is like
A very strong zirconia framework covered with layers of ceramic. The zirconia carries the load; the ceramic gives the shade, translucency and surface texture.
When to choose it
When the restoration has to carry load across several teeth, such as bridges and full-arch rehabilitations on implants.

CAD/CAM feldspathic ceramic

Used in veneers designed and produced in CAD/CAM.

What it is like
A glassy ceramic with a translucency close to that of enamel. It is less strong than zirconia and gains strength once it is bonded to the tooth.
When to choose it
For veneers designed in CAD, when aesthetics matter more than load.

Feldspathic ceramic on refractory model

Used in veneers made on refractory models.

What it is like
The same ceramic family, applied by hand in layers and fired on a refractory model. It allows thin sections and control of the shade layer by layer.
When to choose it
For veneers whose shade and translucency have to be built up by hand, tooth by tooth.

Leucite-reinforced feldspathic ceramic

Used in feldspathic veneers.

What it is like
A feldspathic ceramic with leucite crystals in its composition, which make it stronger without taking away its natural look.
When to choose it
For feldspathic veneers that need more strength.
Where we use it
Feldspathic veneers

Provisionals

Used in implant-supported full-arch provisionals and in provisional implant crowns.

What it is like
{{TODO: material}} A provisional protects the site and keeps form and function while the definitive restoration is planned and produced.
When to choose it
With the surgical guide, as an immediate provisional, or at any stage before the definitive rehabilitation.

Shade matching

Photos are essential for good results. To reach the right shade, we work with:

Request the Optishade colorimeter
Matisse AI
Shade matching on implant crowns for central incisors.
Optishade colorimeter
On loan, for single aesthetic cases or difficult substrates.
Photo protocols
For photographing the case in a way that communicates the shade to the lab.
Zoom / Teams
We explain how the Optishade works by video call.
